If the switch does not have continuity, you should replace it. You can also use a multimeter to test the door switch for continuity. Always check the dryer venting when replacing a blown thermal fuse. Be aware that a blown thermal fuse is an indication of a restricted exhaust vent from the dryer to the outside. Before jumping to the control board, I do advise ruling out the thermal fuse and the door switch as probable causes first since those are far less in cost. A multimeter can be used to test it for continuity. If the F-01 returns and will not clear, then you will possibly need to replace the control board in the dryer. A wiring problem or drive motor failure could also prevent the dryer from continuing to run properly. If your dryer continues to operate properly, then resetting the control board may have fixed your problem. If the dryer motor continues to stop working, then you may have a bad control board. Completely disconnecting the electrical power and then reconnecting it will sometimes reset the board and it will operate properly. If the error cleared after unplugging it for 20-30, then the control board could have received a power surge or glitch through the electrical lines.
WHIRLPOOL DUET DRYER CONTROL BOARD TEST CODE
The F-01 error code indicates a primary control board failure on this model of dryer. Your assistance in this problem diagnosis would be greatly appreciated! I have not tested either one, but I assume door switch works OK, since the light goes on/off when door is opened & closed? Just hope it's not a control board issue. I have looked at some you tube videos and other forum posts and they seam to point to the door switch or thermal fuse as possible problems. With no longer holding in the start button-in about 4 seconds-the fault code F-01 appears in the estimated time remaining display. If you hold the start button in for 1-2 seconds, the green light will appear abeam the word sensing. The problem is it will not start when you hit the start button.
